Am I the only one who thinks Doss shouldn't have been allowed to go to war?

Am I the only one who thinks Doss shouldn't have been allowed to go to war? He's a hero, but nobody can predict the future. Soldiers could've died because he refused to carry a gun. Also, what kind of retard tells the army they don't want to work on Saturday?

Desperate times... they were in the middle of a World War situation and the draft was in effect, so they probably needed him, even if only as a medic. Absent other equally-qualified (or superior) medical doctors stepping up, yeah, they'd probably want Doss.

Also, while precognition is impossible, there is a certain kind of lunatic-logic to understanding that any hyper-pacifist who still wants to support the war effort is going to bring his A++ game to *everything*.

As to Saturday, it's the kind of >ahem< retard (really?) who wants to adhere to his weltanshaung - as enshrined in the US Constitution - and as long as that fellah is stepping it up the other 6 days of the week, who cares?

I thought it was Sundays he didn't want to work on?
