Read Men, Women, and Chainsaws by Carol J. Clover
As the book states, final girls typically have gender ambiguous names.

If you actually go through slasher films one by one, you'll find that Ms. Clover is incorrect about that (and a good number of other things), unless you want to make a serious argument that names like Alice and Laurie are common male names. She cherry picks certain films to make her points, but if we look at the genre on the whole, we can see that she often makes claims that cannot be substantiated.
