I'd like to believe she was offered a job waiting tables & stayed there at Arlen's dancing & maybe singing. Never looking back, why did she choose that bar anyway ? missed the beginning of the movie.

There is a scene where she was talking to her dad. Before he was 'saved' and became involved with the church, he was a musician in a band. He told her they used to play at that place Arlene's in Memphis.

thanks, it comes on often on Showtime so I got around to catching the 1st half. what do you guess becomes of her ? she can't go back home & he won't trust her again, she's a lovely mess.
