The seizure scene from many perspectives, all equally disturbing
I thought that since the girl was clearly on the same level, sense of humor-wise, as our protagonist, it isn't completely out of bounds to think that she faked the seizure in order to prevent further sexual contact, i.e. an actual connection. Which makes it sad because they can't connect at all.
Then, from another perspective, if the seizure is real, then his watching her like one watches a bug struggle in a puddle of yogurt, is truly disturbing. It's like he's watching television, just bored.
I guess my point is that the film kept me so off balance that it was actually difficult to discern what was genuine and what wasn't. It's like that quote from The Simpsons: "Are you being sarcastic?" "I don't even know anymore."
