You're gonna get-a no no tip.

shareI don' have ewhh... I do not have umm, eh, a car radio because I'm-a just a boy.
shareYou pay so much *beep* money for these cabs, you should have the option to listen to whatever kind of music you want...
shareHe's just a wooden boy!
shareThe only way someone can quote lines from this film is if they missed the point of the entire *beep* thing.
I base that specifically on the scene you're quoting, by the way. And of course, ya know, the manner with which this film openly mocks people who do what you are doing.
The notion that anyone saw this film and wanted to quote the characters is a Shyamalian twist I never saw coming.
It's because Tim & Eric functions on some level as bully porn, isn't it? People watch it and genuinely mock the weird-looking people, without understanding the larger point about finding value in everyone. Grog. Gross. This thread made me sick in my mouth.

OOOH I WENT TO FILM SCHOOL! I UNDERSTAND THINGS YOU DON'T! I KNOW MOVIES!
YOU DON'T GET IT, MAAAAAN!!

@johnathancaltman - you need to seriously lighten up. Someone can quote a a semi-dramatic movie - after all the characters are so obnoxious and obtuse that they are laughable. You can't expect every facet of life to have some deep meaning, most of Tim & Eric's work is funny not because of the way the people look but the odd dialogue and weird as *beep* situations they are in...to sit there all high and mighty and preach to us fans who are merely quoting a humorous line is extremely annoying. So thanks for being a downer.
shareI have to agree with Johnathan here. This line wasn't even humorous, but making the point that people that would find it humorous are pretty sad. It isn't meant to be quoted as a funny line, but maybe discussed as to why it wasn't funny. This movie was totally commentary on the type of person that would quote it and say it was funny.
shareYeah, I was kind of sick to my stomach during that scene
shareI found both cab scenes to be pretty disturbing in the film. It's a perfect demonstration of the social superiority the characters feel over people who actually have to work to make a living. And just watching the driver's face. Ugh. What a bummer.
shareStop being pretentious douche bags and let people do whatever they wanna do. Who cares if someone else quotes this movie or any movie or any scene from any movie? Really, you care? You care that much? You and Jonathan both really care THAT much that these guys are quoting the movie? Really?
I don't think you do. I think you're both just using it as an excuse to try and make yourself look better by making these people look bad, and also an excuse to trot around your views on the film as if they are 100% certain fact or as if they are the only views to have. Go suck a dick.
You fat pieces of sh!t.
Voted biggest @sshole and role model of the year.
It's not real life man it's gonna be OK!
shareI see where you're coming from and agree but....I found that scene funny, wrong on all fronts, immature and also a good observational example of how a lot of us act. There are no right or wrong responses to it as it's designed to provoke discussion. It is possible for someone to laugh at something while also being aware of it's purpose and message. It's also more than reasonable that someone can state that on the internet, (which is a virtual world with very little connection to the real world) but take in what they've seen and act accordingly against it in their own lives.

Thank you, EighteenFortySix.
It's possible to understand what the filmmakers are saying in that scene. You're also allowed to laugh there because it is funny. It's horrific what these people are doing to this cab driver, but because we're in this cinematic world we're safe enough to laugh without it meaning we're as bad as these people.
That's how I see the scene. I'm sure there are others who may not think that what these guys are doing is wrong, but I'd argue that the majority of conscientious society wouldn't think that.
I think there's been a rape up there!
STFU you pretentious twat.
shareYou are completely correct. Nothing funny about this. And I find it hard to believe there are many people lacking self-awareness that would behave like this. I have been around a few, and it was the last time I spent an evening with them. They wonder why nobody wants to hang with them, and wind up in a group of 35 year-old dudes who don't talk to chicks except to mock or abuse them.
The people on this thread claiming 'its just a movie, man!' or 'I found it funny, but horrifying' are revealing something here that they probably shouldn't reveal to anyone who matters in their real lives. Abusing a service person is THISCLOSE to torturing animals.
i laughed at that line, still thought the whole scene was messed up.
