She wasn't comfortable being touched by her boyfriend and they never kiss once the whole movie. He makes advances towards her but she never makes any to him. Also she gets mardy after she has friends round, this is because she likes the girls who came over and is sad they have left and she's stuck with a guy.This is why Toby kills her boyfriend and not Alex. He is a virgin but Alex gave it up to a girl.

I remember I had a girlfriend when I was 15 and she was also 15 and even when we were making out she wouldn't even let me run my hand over her breasts even when she had her shirt on.
I think this movie does quite a good job of capturing that awkward stage when it comes to teenage love. The boy and girl really have strong feelings for one another but are too afraid to show it.
Ben does try to break the ice a little by putting his hand on Alex's leg, but again I found this quite believable since 9 times out of 10 it's always up to the guy to make the first move.
