Enjoyable but one major flaw spoiled it for me

Right, they design armor and weapons to beat these things. I can overlook that they cooked all this up in the blink of an eye but here's the thing. Notice when they attack the lab the soldiers all pull their vizors down to stop them being killed by the touch of the energy beings?

Guess who doesn't? That's right, the lead actors. They can't cover their faces for if they did how would the audience know who they were? They're the stars, they need their faces to be seen otherwise how could they add these scenes to their profile?

This stupidity pulled me right out of the movie. No big deal though, it was almost over. As I said, it was pretty good except for this major idiocy near the end.

As soldiers kept being killed regardless, I started to think that it was more about their weapons having a hell of a kick, and seeking protection from that, or possible explosions from malfunctions (or from the impact on the enemies).

Yeah, that's what I thought about the visors, that they were like the original Spectral goggles to let them see the apparitions, even with the "searchlights", plus with some sort of built in targeting computer or something like that.

As to the OP's observation of not wearing visors so we know who the actors are. Sylvester Stallone did the same in Judge Dread. Dread never, ever removed his helmet. This was part of his awesomeness. But no, we had to know that it was Stallone playing Dread. As if you couldn't tell from his voice and wooden acting.

The visors were just for the weapons it didn't protect them from the spirits. If you noticed the weapons had a big kick.
