Budget?
Any idea on what the budget was for this?

Considering that it was originally a Legendary Films and Universal production that was set to be released in theaters for summer 2016, I'd guesstimate it had a production budget of between $50-$70 million. The big variable is that I don't know the extent of savings they achieved by filming primarily in Hungary.
shareThanks for the input. I created a list that deals with expensive movies that never received a wide theatrical release and so I'm always on the lookout for new titles to add to it.

Well if that's the case, they did a good job stretching it considering what Hollywood blows through for far less results.
shareI was gonna mention similar with regard to the savings by filming in Hungary
I'd guess it was 30-40 million but perhaps high as you estimated
If they got rid of the spirits and just had a battle with the upgraded weapons at the factory this would have been a good Call of Duty movie. I'd like to see a cgi break down or behind the scenes featurette. The story isn't ground breaking. But it is fun and works.
shareI don't know but one of the reviewers mentioned that this was originally going to be released by universal with a budget of 70 million, and then it was dropped and picked up by netflix. With the cast not seemingly costing a lot(compared to your typical top billed movies with effects like these) I'd say 70 million seems about a right amount for such an exemplary score, special effects, and set, actually I'd say they got a bargain for that price.
