Condensate spirits passed through anything but iron, right? Then why...

The condensate spirits passed through everything but ceramic and iron, right? This was shown at numerous points in the film, as well as explained by Dr. Clyne.

Then why were they originally kept in chambers that had a GLASS front, vs ceramic or iron on all sides? With the glass window, nothing would have stopped them from passing through the glass to get out. They had no issue passing through glass in any of the city buildings.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to have a ceramic or iron front too (like all of the other sides of the chamber)? If that were the case, they would have never escaped from the "accident" in the first place.

That's like making a jail cell with steel and concrete on every side, except for the door (which you make out of tissue paper). How good of a job would that do at keeping dangerous murdering criminals from getting out of their cells?

JuST FYI, they do have ceramic "glass", which would stop them from getting out, and let the people see that they are still there. The accident that set them free looked/sounded like some sort of Earthquake/explosion that they weren't counting on happening/planned for, which caused the breach.

Ah, you're right - ceramic glass like smooth-top stoves and the like.

I still think it would have made more sense to make the front panel out of the same material (iron) that the walls/top/bottom was made out of.

From a construction standpoint, it would have been easier and cheaper to manufacture, and certainly much more indestructible than a piece of glass. A simple sensor or camera inside each cell could have been used to show the scientists the occupancy status of each cell.

Oh well, it's just a movie. The glass doors do have a better on-screen presentation than solid metal doors would have had.

It couldn't have made LESS sense than to use breakable-glass to house murder-ghosts.

It was ceramic glass infused with iron

I'm pretty sure they did use ceramic glass. That's why they couldn't just get out and attack Clyne when he was trying to shut down teh engine and stop them. They weren't able to get out of their cells until the glass on them broke. If it had jsut been regular glass they would have never beens topped as they would have just all swarmed and killed him while he was trying to shut them down.

When they burst into that locked room in the upstairs building, I was half expecting to see Sam and Dean in that room.....
