It's funny!

Is this the funniest Melissa McCarthy movie ever? No. Is this the funniest movie ever? Certainly not. Would I have been disappointed if I had paid full theater price to see this? Maybe, maybe not. Look, we really enjoyed this movie and there were a lot of scenes that both my wife and I laughed out loud at. Which really makes me wonder why this movie received such a horrible IMDb score. I suppose our expectations were lowered by all the negative reviews and very low IMDb score, but we were pleasantly surprised. My advice: if you're really skeptical, like we were, just wait for a free Redbox code, rent it and be pleasantly surprised at how much better it is than the IMDB score. It's funny!

One scene that cracked me up is when Pearl was telling Tammy not to be a quitter when they were trying to leave the park and were stuck between two trees. That scene was perfectly done and is the type of scene that will make me laugh out loud every time I think of it. As for the imdb score, I was shocked seeing a 4.8. I knew it would be lower than I expected, but I thought it would have a 6.2 when it should be 8.something. So I gave it a ten. 

I thought it was funny too! It's not meant to be critically acclaimed or to be a groundbreaking comedy. It's silly, it's ridiculous, and I loved it. Melissa McCarthy is one of my favorite women in comedy, so I can appreciate anything she's in.

I thought the movie was funny and enjoyed it.
