Ice Cream Truck scene a nod to "Maximum Overdrive"/ Stephen King?

For anyone who is a fan of the Stephen King movie "Maximum Overdrive" which was also filmed in Wilmington, NC where this movie was shot, did you notice how the scene where Tammy and her grandma were watching the ice cream truck go by at the stop sign looked like it was shot in the same exact location as the ice cream truck scene in Maximum Overdrive? I wonder if they filmed it on the same street? It was so funny and ironic to see- I wondered if it was a little nod to Stephen King?? Maybe the director of Tammy was a fan who wanted to pay tribute???

It was a call back to the Dan Ackroyd conversation about the only person that the grandmother hit on that actually slept with her was the ice cream man. He called out, "Bone cone," as he passes them.
