Should Not Have Let Her Hubby Direct

It was a mistake for them to let her husband direct though he is a decent enough character actor. She is hurting her career trying to carry him.

There were a lot of great one-liners and Melissa McCarthy is hilarious but this was an absolute train wreck - a few funny scenes here and there but nowhere near enough to even begin considering making a movie out of.

I also don't understand the casting choices. Alison Janney who plays Tammy's mom is only 11 years older than Melissa McCarthy. Susan Sarandon who plays Tammy's granny is only 13 years older than Alison Janney.

The direction wasn't the problem with this film. It was the lack of a story (which was written by Melissa and Ben).

It's like they just said "We don't really need to write anything. We'll just film Melissa being Melissa and have Susan swear a lot b/c old people swearing and drinking is funny."

I gave it a 4. People won't remember this film in 2 years.
