The scenes where McCarthy is flirting are clingeworthy

The humor was god-awful and she flirting with a fit nice looking guy seemed so unnatural and unconvincing. I'll never understand how the casting director decided to hire that guy to be the love interest for McCarthy. Good God...

Well, in this case they are one and the same. Ben and Melissa wrote and directed so I'm sure it was casted accordingly. Just saying.

And every movie or sitcom that features a fat slob of a main character, and a perfectly fit female love interest/spouse is believable? It's not like it hasn't been done before.

The land whales that make up the *snicker* bulk of McCarthy's fanbase will no doubt wonder why Ryan Gosling wasn't cast as Tammy's obligatory love interest. It's all about feeding *heh* the delusions that lead to such abominations as the so-called HAES nonsense.

Check out any online personals site. You'll note the *chortle* wide selection of female wobbly wonders demanding a love connection with (up to and probably including) a male gymnast with a trust fund and a three pound dingus. Tammy is woman, hear her roar! She deserves a fit and attractive man even though she brings nothing to the table herself. Besides, obviously, the crusts of the pizza she ate on the way to the table.

Also, note carefully the wasting of the fabulous Toni Collette. She had what, maybe three lines? She was quite obviously cast as "the skinny b1tch" who "stole" Tammy's man. Dem skinny b1tches are everywhere, out to rob healthy women of their happiness, don'tchaknow?

Cringe-inducing for real people to be sure, but the casting was carefully tuned to appeal to the fantasies and twisted worldview of scooter-cruising self-proclaimed beauties filling Wal-Marts across the great US of A.

At present nothing is possible except to extend the area of sanity little by little.

YES. THANK YOU. You said everything I wanted to say about this sad POS of a film. WTF were Toni Collette, Dan Akroyd, Kathy Bates and Susan Surandon thinking??

Is it me or were they trying to suggest McCarthy is the new Kathy Bates? Kathy was just passing the torch? That's like saying John Candy passed the torch to Kevin James. That's insulting to film history.

I didn't see that at all, you are just drowning in your seething hatred of obese females.

When Bobby was supposedly hitting on her I found it hilarious. The real actor seemed kinda repulsed. He tried hard to put up a good face but it just felt so unnatural, like a gigolo hitting on a dump trunk of a lady so he can get paid.

Anyone who writes "clingeworthy" in an attempt to spell "cringeworthy" is simply cringeworthy. Yes, I'm bringing spelling into this, which is lame, but it's just to show how lame your criticism is. Might I add: I didn't even like this movie!

You show how lame my criticism is by explaining why, not by acting like a bitter grammar nazi. The fact is that it looked ridiculous, people never go for women that fat unless they have a fetish which is a tiny minority.

reply

Yes I'm not sorry for fat people it's about habits. But my good common courtesy I don't point out people are fat they already know.

Ya, and Seth Rogan could really get Katherine Heigle in real life ? NOT!!!!!

I love how every man out there even if they are a fat slob thinks they deserve a super model. I thought her love interest was perfect for her.

I think Melissa McCarthy is a beautiful and funny woman. Why are people so mean on the internet?

reply

You might as well whine and say, "WAH! I'm a fat woman. Other people are criticizing me for my lifestyle choice and making me feel bad about my horrible decision."

Melissa McCarthy is a beautiful woman? Take off the beer goggles. When she's driving in the car, she looks like she's filthy... but it's actually the way the shading looks on her multiple rolls.

ignoring the fat comments. I liked the movie and I agree when Tammy flirts it totally made me cringe. That being said I liked it because it was juxtaposed against the real Tammy. A funny person who is just trying to keep up with her grandmother and maybe feel good about herself. When she dropped the act, she was great.

didn't you read that the guy who plays Tammy's love interest wanted the part. They met a few years ago and both said they wanted to work with each other. I thought that McCarthy's real husband played her boss that fired her was awesome.
