Ha ha yeah good point. I really enjoyed Susan Sarandon character too. I thought the movie was funny.

The Mark Duplass character sees an in attractive character acting even less attractive, being rude and ignorant to everyone in sight. There's not even a shred of logic as to why he'd be remotely interested. And for his part, the morning after he notices her sleeping in the dirt, he's not particularly moved by that either.
You can surmise that at some point, in someone's head, the idea was for them to bond over the shared experience of looking after their elderly relatives. Except they forgot to put that in the script, and the elderly characters ended up not needing any care as they were more vital and alive than Tammy and "Mark".
