Season One Questions (Spoilers)

1) So Robin is a Sydney Child Protective Service (CPS) detective visiting her ill mother back in New Zealand. There is a local incident involving a child so she gets a call to lend a hand. Ok so far. She then asks to stay on the case. Wait a minute. She is a police officer in another country, employed by a specific police department. Don't they want her back? Doesn't New Zealand have some CPS officers of their own to send. She then proceeds to stay in NZ for several months (Tui is 4-5 months pregnant in episode one, and gives birth in episode 7). Does the Sydney PD not want her back? Did she quit? Is she on extended medical leave due to her mother's cancer? Never explained.

2) Why is EVERY NZ cop corrupt or inept? What about the guy who shoots the rope the cut Wolfie down? Who would do that? Police officers cannot go around shooting guns for no reason.

3) So it turns out that Robin was Matt's daughter the whole time, and she was in love with and screwing her half-brother. But WAIT! 5 minutes before the series ends, there is a Deus Ex Machina, and Johnno is NOT Matt's son, so everything is alright! No consequences. Lame.

4) Matt's whole family is ridiculously stupid. Their 12 year old daughter/sister is pregnant and no one cares. Was she raped? Who cares! She's just a slut. Her Thai mother doesn't care (and later disappears for no reason).

5) The women in Paradise. What was the point? What about the whole subplot about Matt wanting the land? What was the point? The whole scene with Sarge having sex with one of the women? What was the point? The lady's husband and daughter showing up in a helicopter? What was the point?

This show was 7 hours of frustration for me.
