UK and Australian TV and film outfit See-Saw is currently developing a second series of the critically-acclaimed Top of the Lake, with original series writers Jane Campion and Gerard Lee."

Was NOT expecting this, especially with how the first series wrapped up. Any thoughts/guesses where this could go? I'm already bummed knowing that Matt won't return unless it's set in the past.

Cool! Yes this is unexpected as it was only supposed to be a mini-series with no other shows. Thanks for the update!

RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman 1967-2014... a tremendously great and talented actor.

Unexpected since the series was as good as wrapped up. I guess that they can do many things with the woman's group and introduce new members with their personal backstories.

Rather surprisingly news given how lame the first series was.

Campion better up her game with Twin Peaks, the series that seemed to have inspired this also returning.

Its that man again!!

I just am finishing the season and I thought it was well done but am not quite at the end. I hate shows that go on for 1 season but if u say it kind of wrapped up the story than it will be interesting to see where it goes from there!!

This is great news overall. As the article I linked above, we don't know yet if it will continue where season 1 left off or be a separate story altogether. We'll have to wait until the cast is announced to know for sure I guess.

If they continue from season 1, there's plenty of material they could use. I have a few plot points in mind but for now, I'll save it for Fan Fiction XD

I can't imagine how that will look seeing how they wrapped up everything nicely. There wasn't anything left to tell.
Maybe a new mystery or characters? Or an anthology?

Though I do think it will be compared to both Twin Peaks and X-Files when all shows return next year. Campion has to do something truly spectacular to stun us.
