Show Cancelled or Abandoned??

I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered but I did not want to read the posts for this show as I have not watched it yet. Does the one season of Top of the Lake end nicely or was it cancelled / abandoned after the first season? (I'm just tired or starting a show to have it be cancelled or scrapped before the directors can wrap up the series.)

Also, can anyone recommend shows similar to this? Thanks!!

Watching now, but do check out Hinterland! It's very Broadchurch.

There's a second season coming out this year which will also star Nicole Kidman.

It might actually be released in 2017. Either way, it's well worth your time watching it, I thought it was excellent with solid performances, a really great plot, a good script, and beautiful cinematography.

It is amazing it went as long as it did quite frankly. Top of the Lake didn't deserve to be put into production. What utter fool read the horrible script and said 'yes, this is fine'???
