written by an idiot or written for idiots?

I was watching this movie and the dialogue was shockingly idiotic. Especially the conversations between the two main characters. It REALLY felt like a middle school kid wrote it,or that it was written for them.
it was clunky, superficial, and just as simple as it gets.

I had a good laugh to myself when I came on here and the writer was Joss whedon, I absolutely expected a young kid straight out of film school to have written it.

The avenger movies are less emotionally complex than a Disney channel original. however, the Avengers get a pass because people don't watch them for the story or dialogue. This movie made me realize how bad and depth-less the character interactions really are in those movies.

Did anyone else think the dialogue was just terrible? Do you think joss whedon is writing down because he thinks general audiences are really stupid, or does he write like this because he is actually that stupid himself? when the avengers gravy train ends, do you think people will realize he is just a simpleton and a hack?

If you thought it was good-why?

i can't stay awake through any of the Avengers movies. I've tried 3 times!

Joss was 28 when he wrote this. So not middle school but definitely younger then his other work.

No, it was written for pretentious d-bags so they could find the encouragement to come to an internet forum and pound their pretentious chest and let the entire world know how much better they are at watching movies than everyone else.
