Does this remind anyone of the epistolary novel of Griffin and Sabine?

Sorry, don't know that one, what it did remind me of - and I actually think Joss Whedon must have seen it too - is my favourite Twilight Zone episode 'A Message From Charity' :-)

I know this thread is old now, but I just watched the movie and couldn't stop thinking about this one, and came here hoping someone else had the same reference... Thanks! :)

I love those books. I thought of those as I watched, but to me The Lake House was more Griffin and Sabine than this was. The being in different times thing.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but just watched the trailer and came straight here to see if anyone else had the same idea as me. This is totally inspired by Griffin and Sabine. Watching the trailer actually made me want to pick up the books again more than it made me want to see the movie.

Was the movie worth the watch?
