Surprise ending (spoiler)

I thought for the entire movie that Rebecca really was crazy and Dylan was just a part of her imagination. I know there was the opening scene with Dylan as a kid, but I thought maybe that was just to fool the audience a little bit. My heart felt like it was breaking more and more as the movie went on because I actually thought it would end with the audience finding out that Dylan doesn't exist in real life. So I was more than glad that the movie had a happy ending and two soulmates are reunited. Is there anyone who had the same thoughts as me?

the thought honestly didn't cross my mind until those final moments when she arrived at the train tracks and he wasn't there but she could hear him. i thought "oh god no - please don't tell me she was delusional" but then he showed up! I loved the ending and I was so glad they finally made it to eachother! :)

Me too. I was getting more and more scared that Dylan only existed in her head. From the moment she was admitted to the nut house my heart sank. Really loved the ending, kind of fell in love with the movie.

Never doubted that he existed, but for the entire race-to-the-train scene I was just waaaiting for a sudden gunshot to take him down. I was on the verge of tears because I was SO sure that's the way it was headed.

So thankful for a happy ending.
