I watched the movie again and Franco got shot to easy, sucked.

It wasnt one of Archie's thugs it was the two girls none of the thugs were anywhere near them at that point

It's been a while you've seen the film? Of course one was. He ran towards them and shot Alien and the girls shot the thug/bodyguard at pretty much the same time. (obviously, or he would have gotten them too)

yeah one of the girls shot him before they went and killed the other gang.

I think it was the first sentry that ran toward them on the dock as they were attacking. The idea that it was one of the two girls seems counter-intuitive, unless that is precisely the point.

The first guard at the dock shot and killed him. I thought it was pretty funny how immediately and anti-climatically he went down.
