Cinematography

Stunning. Seriously one of the more visually enjoyable movies I've seen. Every second of this is filled with gorgeous colors and camera angles. Thought the movie was a little silly (mainly Franco) but definitely worth watching as purely an art film. Cinematographer also did Irreversible (2002) and Enter the Void (2007). A true talent.

Agreeeeeed !! ?

reply

Definitely. It doesn't deserve all the hate it's gotten.

Debie is great, too great for this film.

Agree with the stunning visuals. the final massacre scene as they're walking up to the house...riveting
The soundtrack, sights, acting (especially by Franco) was moving. I think Alien was over-the-top because who wouldn't be over the top???? Look at the money, power, women and all of his sheeyit!!

I went in with luke-warm expectations and came out thoroughly impressed...my favorite feature film by Mr. Korine.

Probably my favorite scene. "Look at all my sheeyit. I got designer t-shirts, shorts in every color, look at my SHEEYITT!"

One of the best cinematography ever.

There's something wrong with Esther.

I wasn't a huge fan of the 'story' or subject matter but it was a really really pretty film. If it wasn't directed or lit so well I would've gotten nothing out of this film.

Completely right. As I watched it the second time - coincidentally, mind you - I noticed that it is really less about the dialogue, or a concise plot, or the content than about what is "between the lines", so to speak...

reply

I absolutely agree. The cinematography was amazing.
