At this point he's parodying himself
Right? He can't be serious, can he?
shareI think Malick is very serious. When narration repeats words from the previous sentence in a one word sentence, you know Malick is trying to make awful material better. Repetition is key for dramatic pretentiousness.

Ok we got it. You didn't like it. Did it ruin your life? I swallowed one post from you but again and again. Move along with that atrocious short film of yours.
shareLets not get away from the point. We're discussing how Malick is parodying himself. You're discussing me. I think I win in a twisted way.
I know it's a lot to ask from a fan of Malick, but I'd appreciate a defense of this film. Can you do that?

Many times I felt at one with the film. I'm not bale but have been a fan since American psycho. I used to frequent some awesome nightlife escapades and be in incredible shape (not too bad now) the vanity of people I could relate to. His stoic character. How he went from woman to woman. The narration hit home. It was somewhat "yeah I know" but the combination of imagery, sound and feel pulled me into the experience. I wasn't worried about a plot. Malick tends to plot life. His films pixelated expecting you to fill in the blanks like your mind does when viewing a distorted object.
Anymore I feel so many act as if they know it all. This is a man who would seem to have it all. Yet feels little. It doesn't need to smack you in the face with what's going on. It's topics relatable. The girl that tells you everything you want to here. The girl that should be right for you but yet isn't. The summer flame that burns out. The over the top dramatic sibling. Etc etc. I'll leave it at that.
Fair enough. :). I'm glad people can appreciate it.

I thought there was a lot of humour in this one. Absurd, striking, satirical humour. It felt like his Spring Breakers.
"All I want, is to enter my hoes justified"
No seriously. That's how I took it. I was cracking up.
It's ok to like more than one actor. :))
