Another autobiographical masterpiece from Malick. (after TOL and TTW)

The title says it all. Yes, his movies aren't popular nowadays. But that is even more reason for me to respect this fantastic crazy old man. He managed to use his past reputation and mysticism around his name to lure big Hollywood stars and producers to actually produce these HIGHLY PERSONAL WORKS OF ART. In other times, this would be easy.. You would just work on a paint; or maybe write a book.. But nowadays, when Cinema is the main art our societies produce and a person is able to make such deeply personal and confusing works - which necessarily involve a lot of other people - now that's *beep* amazing.

I congratulate him on another masterpiece which will, I am 100% sure, be regarded as an exquisitely human work of art in the future.

edit: I forgot to say I loved it. Let me just say that if I were an alien Anthropologist interested in the long gone Human Race and I found this film, I would consider myself to be extremely lucky.

Check the trivia section for the film - there was no script! This was nothing more than a student film, and that could fairly be taken as an insult be film students.

Experimental maybe...not a student film! If people don't like it then fine but it should be respected.

Xenophobia sucks!

The suggestion that his movies are not popular anymore because the viewing habits of the public have changed - that's not right. His films are what have changed. He's trying to push the medium in new directions. Like many who have tried such things, it doesn't always work out well.
