After releasing four films from 1973 to 2005, the previously sporadic Terrence Malick received a cinematic shot in the arm and has since 2011 directed three movies, with two more scheduled for distribution later this year. The first of these recent features, Tree of Life, is an extraordinary film and was that year’s best, while To the Wonder (2012) feels rather more like Malick-lite by comparison. Though his latest offering, Knight of Cups (2015), never quite reaches the emotionally transcendent level of this former feature, it is a step up from the latter, and is yet another indication that Malick remains an audaciously, and divisively, one of a kind filmmaker. http://www.cutprintfilm.com/blu/new-on-blu-ray-knight-of-cups/
