how does this guy keep getting top acting talent in his films? he can't pay them and his movies never make any money. they're basically all big budget arthouse films. if he were good, in that his movies weren't boring pretentious drivel, i could see the allure. but otherwise i don't know how he keeps getting A-listers.

Im Guessing it goes something like this:

Agent: "hey *insert star's name*, you've got a couple of days free, want to be in the new Malick movie?"
Actor: picks up jaw, "f@<k yeah"

Working for him is why a lot of actors got into the biz
