Nitro Circus Live Event
Man, this is kind of hard to watch
shareYeah it kinda sucks. Why they are trying it over 2 hours I don't know.
Watching middle aged men hurt themelves isn't funny just uncomfortable.
As I submitted that Joe's four wheeler wouldn't start...then a minute later he got injured and needed a time out. This whole thing feels kind of...off. I love their normal show but the female host and Nitro Circus stuff is a weird fit. It's fine but not a good fit. The Travis guy is okay. He fits their style a bit more.
Lastly, who the hell is doing the audio!? They need to mute mics that shouldn't be heard!
Watching Joe get hurt was bad. He looked so mad.:(
shareQ is holding his chest and can't compete.
Joe was hurt to the point of a commercial break on live tv.
Sal looks deeply miserable and possible like he's gonna pass out while on those cables. And he REALLY hit that cake!
Then Murr wins the obstacle course by almost a minute...
These guys need to get in shape BAD!
Well, 3 of them anyway. Murr aced that obstacle course. But I knew he would. He can run unlike the other 3.
Congradulations, Murr! That definitely was payback for that punishment! You won this season! And Make A Wish thanks you too.

The worst part is this will now be slipped in during the normal reruns of the show. I'd rather just see the regular show!
shareWhy the hell is this 2 hours? Sal looked like he got whiplash when he slammed into the cake. Poor thing looked terrified but still, lol.
shareSeriously! If he ends up with whiplash and/or a concussion, I won't be surprised. I'm certain he's in an ER getting checked out right now.
Why wasn't that cake breakaway like the paper they jumped through? Why have a solid back, even if it's a pad!?!
He probably is. I rewatched the part where he hits the cake and his head really snapped back. It looked like it hurt. I was kinda surprised he didn't lose consciousness. Hope he's ok.
shareI wonder what Joe's punishment would have been had be lost. It probably wouldn't have been that. He's not scared of heights...and he'd no doubt try to eat that cake!

This unfortunately was the weakest episode ever, which is a shame. I was looking forward to it and it was nothing but commercials and audio malfunctions. The punishment was way too dangerous and out of line. As Sal screamed I need a helmet I really felt bad for him. His head had a frightening bounce of the cake.
shareI think the "audio malfunctions", at the end, were because Sal was repeatedly cursing. You could tell a little later they just shut his mike off because of it.
shareI gotta say something. These "live specials" are flat-out a bad idea. It's like Tru can't help but be Tru with these corny and outlandish promotional episodes. This was truly awful. Especially for a season finale. I can't help but feel the network is really holding these guys back. I know they're all capable of doing better than this or a lot of what Tru requires of them. If it was any other network, I guarantee this garbage wouldn't happen. I want my TESD show now.
shareI agree. I wonder whose idea this was because I really doubt it was the guys'. It's like they threw caution to the wind. Tru won't have a show if any of them gets seriously injured so wtf. And I kinda thought they all looked a bit upset.
shareThis whole thing reeks of TruTV. I don't know what it is about that network, but they have always been the lowest of the low. I think IJ has talented people behind the scenes and on-screen as well. But that can only go so far sometimes.
I get the feeling that Tru wants IJ to be Jackass or some other form of it. As we know already, the guys aren't for that. They unfortunately don't have much of a say though. They gotta dance while Tru milks the hell out of their only break-out show.
They need to let these guys be themselves. Stop these shameless promotional episodes. Let them write more and stop interfering. That's my advice.
Season 6 next and I really hope this isn't the beginning of the end. Tru needs to take a look at themselves and do what keeps their flagship happy. The fan base is unhappy with this from what I've seen across social media and in no way is it the jokers' fault.
shareIf they're smart they'll listen. The overall opinion is extremely negative, so we can hope. But who knows how much the network's making off of these types of episodes. I know the ad revenue must be pretty damn high. I'd see in negotiating my contract if I was the Jokers.

Same idiots that think "John Glaser Loves Gear" should be a television show

I think it's a toss-up between the two.

I thought it was ok. Way way better than the tight rope walking one. Not having Howie Mandel automatically made this one 10 thousand times better.
I saw some footage where they showed them making the cake, and it was cardboard with Barbasol shaving cream on top. It looked like the whole thing was 5 inches thick. How the hell did Sal walk away from that? TruTV better thank God he didn't break his neck. It really boggles the mind they thought it was ok to have him flying down at that with no helmet or neck support.
I live close to Prudential Center and contemplated buying tickets but I'm glad I didnt. This was uncomfortable to watch. The best parts were the pre-recorded segments like the house-sitting bit.
I read more than I post..
