As a huge fan of this movie, I'm a little ambivalent about this. While the movie did leave open the possibility of a sequel, it really didn't need one. I will definitely read up about what the sequel will be like before deciding if I will see it. A bad sequel won't ruin the original movie, but I also don't want to see the characters degraded. One absolute MUST: soundtrack by Michael Giacchino!
