Extra scenes

Have you seen the extra scenes/features that didn't end up in the final cut of the film? I was wondering if these are genuine deleted scenes or if they were just made for fun to be little extra treats for the fans?

I'm talking about:
- 5 second rule (Riley drops a grape on the ground)
- Shoes of doom (the scary movie)
- "My bad!" (Riley's schoolmate bumps into her which annoys Anger)

I would have thought they are just little extras, because deleted scenes seem quite rare in an animated film, where it takes so long to animate and render everything. If they didn't see value in putting the scene in the film they wouldn't go to all the effort in animating and rendering it to its full quality.

Most likely just little clips made for marketing and never meant to be in the film. I haven't seen the Anger one, but the Disgust and Fear ones would be pretty pointless in the grand scheme of things. Along with that, Pixar seems to like advertising their movies with things that never happen in them.

That can happen in a lot of works. For example, the trailer for Darkness Falls shows scenes that weren't even in the movie.

I think it's a real shame they didn't include this stuff as bonus features on the DVD :(
