Dom Deluise as Bing-Bong?

I loved the VA for him, but if Dom were alive, I think this role would have been perfect for him. Any thoughts?

Oh, yeah, he would have worked. :) Although, as you noted, the actor who played him did a great job of it.

I agree. Bing Bong reminds me of Koosie (sp?) from Dexter's Lab who was voiced by Dom Deluise.

To be honest, I could see that being a problem. Bing Bong already gave off strong enough Koosie vibes as it was, and having Dom Deluise voice him on top of that might have made him seem like too much of a direct attempt to recreate that character.

I agree that Dom Deluise could certainly have had a ball with this role if he'd lived to see it, but I do think it's good that Bing Bong is able to stand as his own character.

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing the similarities between the two. In every scene Bing Bong was in I kept thinking:"how did they get away with this?"

Very fine voice by Richard Kind of Tom and Jerry: the Movie (1991) infamy. His theme (kids song or not) can be a bit annoying (same as some have called the preceding short's song Lava) but serves an important obviosu purpoise..part of Bongo. Aldo, he's:
part elephant, part cat (Cheshire cat..)

Amanda Bynes is hot and Lindsay Lohan is not.

If we're going with dead comedian casting, Zero Mostel immediately comes to mind. I may have even seen some contemporary discussion of Dom taking on Zero's mantle when he died.

Richard Kind sometimes bugs me a little in live action (Spin City... but it can me made to work when he's an insufferable character, e.g. Burn Notice) but is an excellent voice actor every time I've 'seen' him.
