A question I have for this movie

Near the end, Joy ends up cloning the guy in Riley's head that she considers to be her boyfriend. She uses them to help her since they would "die for Riley" but, once she succeeds in her mission, she never goes back to stop the duplicating process so were they just going to keep being cloned over and over? Lol, I know it's a cartoon, for kids and it's already pretty weird but, that has always stuck with me. She should have cloned a bunch of those guys and then turned it off. leaving it on to create him over and over again inside of Riley's mind for the rest of her life is just weird.

I think one of the "mind-workers" eventually switched off the machine...

You're taking this movie waaaaayyyyy too litteraly, like a little kid. Though I believe kids didn't even consider that or would just say "it's all in her head". It's Imagination Land, it has no impact on her mental health, no more than Bing Bong had, it won't have any consequences in her mind, especially since the island was starting to get under destruction because she was growing up and leaving things behind to replace them.

She typed in a large but finite number. 9999 or something. It will stop eventually.

Time was short, so he just keyboard mashed and then grabbed what she could, and went with it, hoping it was enough.

One could say that what that scene represented, is that in times of adversity, stress and/or depression, people will cling to thoughts of consolation, things that will comfort them and help them go through. In Riley's case, one such thought of comfort is apparently her concept of the perfect future-boyfriend. Once the adverse situation is resolved, the need for comforting thoughts decreases and, as sul-uddin96 already wrote, one of the "mind-workers" will eventually turn the machine off.

But I'm not a psychologist, so maybe I'm way off.

Lol that annoyed me too in the movie, but I'm sure that a kid wouldn't pick up on it.
