Some highlights from the Russian live chat with Fass, Marion and Kurzel

I've listed to it the entire time, and there is some hightlights from the conversations:

Michael Fassbender said that there was a different approach for him to be a producer and the main actor on such a huge blockbuster. He said that he didn't keep the costume, because he tries to clean his gardrobe. He said that he was excited about the concept of the movie, and was pleased by the chance to work with such an amazing stuntman as Damien Walters.

Marion Cotillard said that she hadn't played the game, but had a close friend who've told passionately about its story, characters and historical themes to her, and she was excited about it. As the reason why she did not played the games by herself she stated that she is afraid that she will be obsessed with it if she starts to and that she'll be sad if she won't play through the whole story which is told in so many games in the series. She said that sometime she probably will play in it when she will have some time to experience it whole. So the reason why she signed up on this project was the chance to work again with Justin Kurzel and Michael Fassbender. She said that there is no shining light or grimmy dark in the film, and that all of the characters are pretty much in the grey area. When asked about whom she'd prefer as her ancestors, Templars or Assassins, she said that neither of them, and that there isn't only this two sides in the movie and that there is also some third parties (hint on First Civ?).

Justin Kurzel said A LOT OF SPOILERS in his interview, so be cautioned. He said that he was intrigued by the themes of the movie, and that the plot is very unusual, and that all of us are going to be surprised in cinemas. He said that he tried to pay maximum attention to both sides, the historical and science-fictional. Among the inspirations for the present he stated Blade Runner and 2001: A Space Odyssey. When asked about the sequel, he said that they already has plant, including story wise, about it, and that they want to make it, but the decision will be made by the audience this month, when the first chapter comes out. He said that the first film ends with a cliffhanger, involving Marion Cotillard's Sophia Rikkin. Towards the end of the film she starts to act very differently and there is a twist with her, as she is revealed to be the leader of Templars (maybe after Alan's death) and her jouney is pretty much far from an end and supposed to be continued in the next chapter where she will confront Callum.

Nolan, I love you forever!

Do you have a link to the translated version? Hm I'm not sure if he would give huge spoilers maybe it's not that big. Marion said her character was ignorant of the centuries old war, so she wouldn't be keeping a facade I believe.

I also find it hard to believe that Kurzel would do such an irresponsible thing. I'm not surprised but it sucks. The last thing I wanted was to see Marion playing another Miranda/Talia.

reply

He didn't say that. At least not in the Russian version. He said that in the sequel he's planning to continue sending Callum into memories of his ancestors and also Sofia (Marion's character) will have a chance to do that as well while she's fighting (together) with Michael.

He also said that there is a link to a possible sequel that has to deal with Sofia Rikkin, yes, but he didn't say anything about her being a Templar.

Rewatched that bit and yep ( at least in traslation) he very briefly called her a Templar. What Kurzel really said, I couldn't catch. So it may or may not have been a translator's error.

Is it on video?

Thank you!

Yes, I'd also prefer to watch an untranslated version without the Russian voice over their own to understand what they're truly saying and if there's some translator mistakes, because I understood that they've translated it on live stream, i.e. very fast, right among the process. But it's unlikely that they'll upload this.
