The lives of many children could have been saved instead with what it

cost to make this important, groundbreaking film.

While I'm not disagreeing with your statement, Rogue One used $50 million more in its budget. And yet, I don't see a similar post on that film's message board...

I say the same for Rogue One. Oh well, I guess I'll have to settle for being correct.

Are you *beep* kidding me? This could apply for every major movie then

Whatever all these Hollywood films cost to make - Go look at how much your government is wasting and then whine to *them* about saving childrens' lives... better yet, look at how much they spend on foreign aid, before looking to sort out their own country's affairs!

Also - if a movie costs 100 millions, that's basically $100M worth of created jobs (minus big stars salaries).

Precisely why we need the Basic Annual implemented today, although tomorrow is fine. This would eliminate the need for jobs, except those that truly matter. Those people would become wealthy if they desired and make money from their work, which would nearly always be in demand. Whoever decides that they can live without a large house, expensive car, and the thousands of unnecessary products that people All of these movie jobs ARE unnecessary and would likely be eliminated, along with many shopping mall/retail and related jobs. The fashion industry, retail in general except for food, entertainment possibly, all unnecessary. Those people would take the BAI and live frugal, simple, happy lives. Robots and automation take over many industries. Health insurance for all funded by taxes, elimination of at least half of all government, including the untouchable Pentagon. Those who take the BAI would also be required to volunteer at least 30 hours per week. This is what school for these people would be for. Training for any volunteer positions needed. People would apply for these jobs. If money can be raised to make a film like this, you would have your movie, the poor child would have medical treatment on par with what the rich child would have and everyone would live happily ever after.
