Rampling, modern day Grand Master?

I get that impression.

I think she is indeed the bigger bad to Iron's big bad.

I concur. If Irons' Rikkin is to be featured in future sequels though (should they be greenlit) I believe that Rampling's character (Ellen Kaye?) should end up dead (or merely comatose, defeated, sidelined, ostracized) by the end of the movie with him being revealed as the mastermind and winner of their apparent power play and future head of the Templars.

Justin Kurzel (the director) said that Marion Cotillard's Sophia Rikkin will be the leader of Templars in the movie. I guess she will obtain this status during the action (maybe in the end) because in the beginning she's obviously just following the orders made by her father.

Nolan, I love you forever!

In fact,in the AC universe, when the templars finally reorganized after the death of Jacques de Molay, grand master became disctrict leaders' title...above grand masters there are guardians(Jeremy Irons' character Alan Rikkin is one of the guardians),above guardians there is General of the Cross, the leader of mordern day templars.

and yes, that is also my guess...Charlotte Rampling's character maybe the leader of mordern day templars.
