I agreed with the critics on this one to an extent, though I felt I wasn't as harsh on it as they were. I really liked Fassbender, the stunts, choreography, costume design, the Spanish Inquisition scenes, but didn't like anything else really. But fans of the game really seem to like it based on the user reviews and what I've seen, and I'm thinking about it now in my head. Maybe I was wrong?
Yeah, that seems to be the case. My showing was packed yesterday, and all the fans were buzzing with excitement on the way out, talking about all the cool stuff in the movie. And I have other friends who are fans who love the film too.
Interestingly, I went to see it with two other people who don't play the games. They both absolutely loved it and themselves disagree with the poor reviews by critics. To each his/her own, I guess!
I really REALLY wanted to reply with a scathing remark to you for your disrespect, but I prefer to spread happiness in the world.
...Though I will say, I saw you call another person a "shill" in another thread, and it made me wonder if that person was a shill. You calling me a shill for expressing a combination of my opinion and my actual, factual, experience in the theater... invalidates yourself in my eyes. After all, I did just check and YUP- I'm still a real person with only one IMDB account.
(I'm not entirely sure what a "shill" is, but I think that's what it means? LOL feel free to correct me XD)
Granted, I'm sure you don't care about what I think of you, and the feeling is reciprocated. But like I said, I'd rather make an attempt at kindness than get into a pissing contest with you.
So, Happy Holidays!! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with joy :D
Mine was too. My husband and I got the last 2 seats in the back row and there were only 8 left on the floor seating when we bought our tickets. Those were filled by the time the movie started. I left the theater feeling like maybe we watched a different movie than what everyone else is because I liked it and my husband loved it. He plays the games, I've tried but not coordinated enough for those kinds of games lol. He pointed out some things he would've done differently but didn't despise it like a lot of people seem to.
Another dead account coming out of the woodwork to defend a crap movie. It only they'd spent that movie money on a better script instead of lame ass viral marketing.
You're funny. Thanks for the laugh. Needed that. In honesty, I couldn't ever get imdb to authenticate my account so I could post, for years. Finally, one day I just gave it another shot and tada! It fixed itself, which is how I tend to fix things. I forget that I have the ability to post. I'm actually surprised my number is that high lol. Wait...does me replying to you change the whole dead account thing? I mean I am still replying. Dead things tend to not respond.
I find it interesting that the plants have evolved to the point that they fight when exposed now. They used to just run away like the cockroaches they are when you shined a light upon them.
Thanks. I've been called a shill before, still waiting on my check...3 years later lol. And it's not really patience, it's more like got busy and forgot about this whole thing lol.
Heh, like you'd need to be a detective to spot a studio plant. You'd need a severe head injury not to notice a brainless shill boosting for such a terrible film.
Very cool, good to hear!! Yeah, there are a couple of things I would have done differently, but overall it's really quite an enjoyable film. For fans and non-fans, based on all the people I've talked to.
I'm not a fan of the games but I saw it with someone who is, and he loved it more than me (and I liked it a lot). There were also other gamers there (evident by their t-shirts and their conversations) and they exited the theater talking excitedly. There was even a bit of applause in my theater, but I saw it at the 7pm preview showing, so it was probably full of die-hard fans.
