Sorry, this movie is bad

The main thing is that missed the point of the series is mainly centered on the ancestor assassin and the story set in that time, but apparently it is mainly centered on the descendant assassin and I found extremely boring.
Even the Spanish inquisition parts are so vague and dusty all the time, unlike the games where it's so clear and realistic. And the direction is mediocre and editing is super quick and it keeps cutting back the fighting back to modern day so much!
And there isn't really much to the movie and the characters are just so dull.

Agree, so disappointing

When I see a person you says that "the point of the series is mainly centered on the ancestor assassin and the story set in that time", I can't help but see a gamer who've only played the latest installments, or forgot about the first ones. The Desmond story (the games from 1st to 3nd) was focused on him and present storyline, which was the point which made this series stand out in the hellish heap of other historical epics.

That is still not the main reason people play and like the games though because of Desdmond's story.

People didn't play the first game because of it, because it was a big surprise, actually. The game was promoted as another historical epic, and gamers were pretty surprised when they discovered all this Abstergo stuff in it. For the next 4 games (II, Brotherhood, Revelation, III), for me, specifically, Desmond and his story was one of the main reasons I've continued to play. The second installment features an entirely new story and character in the past, so why could people play in it because of it? I understand Brotherhood and Revelation, because they've shared the same protagonist in the past, Ezio, but why the II and III? Simply because they've historical epics? People seems not to like admitting it, but the present storyline is what differs this game series from all the other historical epic games, this combination of past and present is what makes this franchise outstanding, even though in the latest games the past is clearly more likable and exciting than present.

The present moved this franchise forward until the age of Unity and Syndicate came. And there is still the potential, because of Juno's existance in the present storyline. Someday, the modern Assassins and Templars will have to confront her, which will hopefully lead to something great and epic in the present.

A "modern day assassins creed" would basically be Splinter Cell. I'd hope though, that Ubisoft doesn't *beep* up the next one. Most of their games in the last 3-4 years have been underwhelming though. Unity was probably one of the most original games in the series, and it would've been better had Ubisoft not forced the team to shove the game out early in time for holiday season.

I don't think the AC series has anymore great games in it, simply because Ubisoft threw the creator of the original series (who wanted it to be a trilogy) out the door.

The present storyline COULD be really interesting, but they have barely included it in the last two games. Seems more like an afterthought. It's a damn shame because there was a ton of potential for interesting lore there.

I pretty much agree with all of it. But they will need to include more of the present-day stuff in the future games simply because they need to conclude the story somehow started by ACIII, when Juno was released. It would be completely stupid to ignore this, because obviously she was supposed to be some kind of threat. And leaving the conflict of Templars and Assassins without conclusion would be stupid as well. So they will have to do this in future installments, that's for sure. Moreover, they've said they want to make a conflict between Juno and Assassins/Templars in the present days the ultimate conflict of the series, and it will obviously happen in present days.

The present day stuff was always met with lukewarm reception. It's just there. The games are popular because of all the cool historical stuff.

I think this movie had a good template to be something great... but it all just felt so flat. The character development was sorely lacking especially with the other assassin's in the facility. I also think the historical segments could've been fleshed out more to make us feel more engaged because I wasn't thrilled by them. It's not the worst movie I've seen, certainly watchable, but it just felt so empty.
