Love the show. Wish it was an hour long and wasn't so damned chaste ...

22 minutes is too effing short, and while I've become very fond of the show and absolutely will continue to watch ... it would be so much better served if we could delve more deeply into these guys via an hour long show. I dislike how they rush through huge issues and topics.

Also, I dislike how much the show seems to bend over backwards to be inoffensive ie the constant wholesome 'family' message, and "we should never have done that, Bryan, let's go apologize" stuff, and the chaste existence of it's two lead characters. Yes, they kiss, briefly, always with closed mouthes, which yes, is pretty amazing for network tv or tv at all, but it's just funny to me that when in bed (which yes, is also a huge step for network tv) they are always, always fully clothed. Not even one of them will have, say, his shirt off. TV is full of nearly naked women all day, and FULL of simulated sex and suggestions of sexual activity, and yet here are two grown, hot men in love who share a bed each night who barely even snuggle? Never a hint that they had sex the previous night or or about to, or jokes about how their sex life is GOING to disappear once the baby comes, etc? Is that stuff STILL too much for middle America? Or not so middle America? Christ.

Baby steps. While I agree with you on most points (I really hate the desexualization of gay characters) this show is still better than nothing. Also, I don't think this is the kind of show that's going to have lots of raunchy sex jokes, double entendres, and half naked guys parading around. Maybe you are right, America might not be ready for that. Or maybe America *IS* ready but Hollywood (and their corporate sponsors) aren't ready to portray it. Hollywood, as liberal as it's supposed to be, is also notorious conservative at that same time, especially when it comes to alternative sexualities.
