Red Hair

Interesting. I didn't realise American were gingPhobic. I always thought it was an British thing.

Oh, everywhere I've been has been gingerphobic. In England, in Canada, in the US... it's terrible. Most of the time it's just taking the piss. But gingers are gorgeous people. I don't get all the hate.

Me, either. I'm a blonde, but I LOVE red hair. I've even added strawberry blonde rinses a couple of times. Jessica Chastain lite!

me too! I'm blond but I've pretty much been a ginger at heart all my life. I've dyed my hair red twice now, Christina Hendricks style.

I've always thought that whole ginger thing was just some big joke...and no one really "hates" or "fears" them?

reply

I agree really, more a silly joke than a real thing. I was just a bit surprised when in popped up in an American sit-com.

Well, for one thing, we didn't call them "ginger" until a few years ago. There was one of the Spice Girls, and then South Park did an episode about it. Before that, they were just called redheads. And I never heard anyone talking about hating or fearing them until the last few years.

I actually have a "type" (one of many, really) that is redheads with pale skin. I realized that I had been attracted to several different guys over the years who looked like that, going back to when I first realized I was attracted to guys.
