We want real gays...not these pansies!!
Give me the gay leather clad guys from the 1980 Al Pacino film "Cruising"
These gays on this show are afraid of their own shadow

So true. They need to have a show that has gays that are (dare I say?) a little more "straight-acting". Andrew Rannells' David has already been done by the boi's from Modern Family, pretty much, and many of the gay characters on that show, this show as well as many others in guest spots or recurring players often veer to the more "queenie" side of the gay spectrum. Do you think it is because a so-called "REAL MAN" gay person would be a threat to this nations sensibilities and they are electing to only portray gays of the "non-threatening" variety. Is the U.S.A. ready for a gay character in the media that is ass-kicking and heroic like Bruce Willis' "John McClane" from the Die Hard franchise? On that note, I think it would be wonderfully progressing to make a movie like "Die Hard" where the main character and his partner are gay!
Just so ya know I am a gay....WORD! Lol

To cut a long story short ( I know, too late), but I too have grown tired of seeing the castrated gay male on the tellie and cinema.

Have you seen the 1980 film "Cruising "? The guys on the New Normal would be scared to death of the fellas in leather that hang out in a bar called "The Cockpit"
Yes I have, and that is going to the polar opposite of what we are being fed by the media. We have the majority of the gays being so urbane and professional and we are all not all like that. We have lawyers, architects, interior designers, media moguls and hair dressers being the only expressions of the gay experience that most people think thats all there is and all there is to being gay, I would imagine. But, what about the gay contractor who makes the interior designer's design a reality? Or the gay person who works at the gas company or postal service. The gay with an ordinary job and one that doesn't like show tunes but would rather rock out to "The Cult" or enjoys rap is very much over-looked. And why do they all have to be young and twinks? And the ones that aren't are usually used as comic-relief so much so they are brushed aside and not given much thought.

HELL YEAH! Tell it!!! I've grown really tired of the fashionista guppies like these two or at least like Brian. Of course I will continue to support the show . . .begrudgingly. But what about the Regular Jo Gay? Where is his tv show???
Cruising rocks! I prefer kick ass gays! Not ones that want to shut down a chicken resturant. How boring is that!
shareLol...! I just saw the episode "Gaydar" and they had real working people who were gay---LOL.

Totally agree with you Gideon. He seems like the type that would sit on his ass and complain about (if not actively trying to hinder) gays making any "progress" in this world.
