I can't get through the Tuesday March 19 episode. The show is too gay, too ethnic, too old too young, too smart-a kid etc. The show tries to cram too much "stuff" into each episode. And I believe the the musical score was created by the same person(s) that wrote the score for "Desperate Housewives." I always hated the DH "plinky" score!

I do not mean to "pee on [anybody's] parade." Since Cable and Network TV have been in a fierce competition for the last 30 years good television writing, in general, has gone down.

Amen cancel it now!

reply

No, don't cancel it! Just tone down the "'Gay' for wide audence entertainment purposes" a little. I shouldn't have called the child a smart-a kid, I should have called her someting like a 'know-it-all' kid.

Tone down the gay? Great idea! Everyone's fine with gays as long as we don't flaunt it or do or say anything gay. Or even hint that we actually have sex or want to have sex. Gays are best when seemingly asexual or as flaming queens...that are also asexual.

reply

No, I don't mean that. It's just that "entertainment" gays (even in the 21st century) do flaunt, and they just do. Anybody can see that entertainment gays are too damn 'gay.' They are written and directed that way. And why the hell do all the entertainment TV gay couples always need to jump on the 'parenthood' train? It is perfectly OK to be a self-respecting homosexual couple ("couple of what?") without needing to become parents right away. It is also OK to portray a single homosexual person/family member for that matter.

I stand by my original idea that "the gay" need not always be exagerated just for entertainment purposes.

Silvertron, I am a 51-year-old homo man that has experienced a great deal about "the gay" over my years. I will say one thing or another about how "it" is portrayed to mainstream audiences for mere comedic entertainment in the early years of the 21st century. For the record. Peace!!
