Wow, this one guy says Kubrick made The Shining because he was bored, that he had a 200 IQ and that Barry Lyndon is a boring film... I would totally disagree and say he just didn't get the movie at all.

I didn't like the comment either,
yet it is a long slow film,
I consider it to be his finest.
Kubrick started out as a photographer,
and this film is full of beautiful scenery,
angles,
and zooms.
Brilliant ending as well.
