If Kubrick wanted a Minotaur in the game room...

then why wouldn't he just put a minotaur in there on one of the posters? It could have been for anything. Minotaur mountain, minotaur lake, etc. This is what drives me nuts about most conspiracy theories. They will connect all sorts of dots when they don't have to. Instead of taking forty steps to arrive at a conclusion you could just take one, if it's necessary to do so at all.

And even if it was a minotaur, so what? The women in Room 237 ties it in with a labyrinth. Brilliant, if we hadn't already been shown a huge maze already. If a maze is shown, there is no need to add strange symbolism that points to a labyrinth being there. Again, see above.

If people really need an explanation about why a ski poster is up at a place where there is no skiing, then there are plenty of explanations I can think of before I see a mythical creature there. I've stayed at plenty of hotels that advertised the surroundings even if there was really no relation to the hotel itself. It's Colorado. People ski there. Even if the hotel isn't a ski resort it stands to reason there could be interest in what is a big part of the economy there.

This was really the most idiotic thing I've heard in a long time and wish I had those minutes back of my life.

To me the most obvious thing about the posters is their symmetry - to both left and right there were indistinct pictures of people. This might have been designed to emphasise the rather creepy pair of girls in the foreground.

The simple fact is that Kubrick often presents scenes that are meticulously designed.

Where's the fun in just blatantly telling someone what's going on?

Hmm, I want this character to convey sadness... I'll just have them say, "I'm sad."

Cut. Print. Oscar.

Uhh... right...

Either that, or the whole premise is completely *beep*

And, so you know, having a poster that said something like "Ski Minotaur Mountain" isn't even close to the same thing of what you just wrote as it wouldn't be blatant to this foolish premise at all.

Happy new year.
