I know it was about crazy OCD people but...
It made want to see a bluray edition of "the Shining" again. My impression of my last viewing of "the Shining" that most of the interiors were filmed in a real hotel. Except perhaps for the blood filled elevators...
anyway, now I know all the interiors were on a soundstage. This is neat info for me because the shots I thought were shot because they were on a real location were totally contrived! So I have even more respect for one of my favorite film makers.
This narrative about odd little details does make me wonder about the odd continuity parts where a chair is is there and then it isn't. That's an easy mistake to make in a film production, I have done it myself. So I want to take another look to see what I think may have been intentional or not.
I make commercials for a living and have been on a feature set or two. Believe me when I say the director has enough madness to worry about without .0001 percent of what the OCD folks put forth as theories.
