Why did almost everyone involved sound like a stoner.

Most sounded like they were stoned from Jamaica's finest.
The excessive laughing at the end of every one of their absurd theories didn't help their cause either. It's no wonder none of them wanted to show their faces.

I will disagree with you. There is a difference between a whacky stoner theory and the ramblings of mentally ill people. This was the latter.
