shareActually, they pointed out some interesting themes; you don't have to agree with them to appreciate their dedication to examining this film. The most significant points, imo, are the native american themes, the minotaur (the minotaur in the maze is a widely known mythology), possible child sexual abuse/homoerotic undertones (some of Jack's interactions with Danny are odd and unsettling) and nazi symbolism (which can be linked to the attempted genocide of the native americans). If nothing else, it's a thought-provoking movie. Nothing bad about that.
