I can't get this time back!

i love Stanley Kubrick films, and conspiracy theories but this was the biggest pile of tosh I've ever seen or almost slept through. Not one theory holds or held water. Not one! Why wasn't the theory of Shelly Duvall being part of the Japanese war effort put forward? Or Scatman Crowthers jacket being a sign of the Illuminati? Or Philip Stone's hairstyle being exactly the same in Kubricks other films? As others have pointed out all of these people sounded like deranged Internet trolls with serious, and I mean, serious mental health issues if they can see the world and a film in this manner. A shocking documentary in more ways than one. minus 40 out of 10

reply

By the way being sarcastic because, as in the documentary, the 'theories' I pose are as ludicrous as the ones in the documentary!

Keep making fun of what you don't know, or cannot see.

Ignorance is bliss.

Kubrick's film, for the majority - will always be THE SHINING.

reply

Well, I agree with those who suggest that this is mainly about how people can come up with all kinds of interpretations of what Kubrick's intentions might have been and how he decided to 'hide things in plain sight' in the movie.

However, I'm not sure that that needed 100 minutes. Why not have another 100 minutes of people talking about their personal theories?

reply

35 years later and we still dont know everything about The Shining. To truly ignore everything as coincidence is just ignorance. Plain and simple. The theories are necessary because they all build towards what was actually being said by Kubrick. A man MUCH more intelligent than you or I...
