I couldn't turn it off ..... but not because I liked it

I watched this movie because I mistakenly picked it up thinking it was another movie. It begins incredibly ham fisted and was almost laughably bad (I had to come to IMDB to see if I was watching a mockumentary) but within a minute the ridiculous theories began. I did not take this movie seriously and I don't know how anyone could unless they were one of the people in the movie. I did not think the Shining was a great film and I do not have 1 crazy theory about it but I could not turn the movie off. I was fascinated by the stretches that some of these people were making to backup their theories and marveled at the amount of time they spent dissecting this movie frame by frame.

The fact that the documentary was about the works of Stanley Kubrick is unimportant. This is very much a work about humans in general and our need to "make sense" out of anything and everything. This would have worked as a movie about religion, political assassinations, government coverups, etc. but instead they used something as unimportant (in the grand scheme of things) as a horror movie that came over 30 years ago. That's pretty brilliant.

This is so true.
I wanted to switch off at 'Penis Tray'. Then as each progressive ridiculous theory continued I felt compelled to see where they would go with it.
This was honestly the biggest load of old bollocks I've seen in a while. But entertaining nonetheless.

Two for flinching!
