''Nosedive'' is nearly our reality...

Maybe not quite but we're sure getting close. Social media is used to screen potential employees, friends and partners to see if they're ''good enough''. We have already started to censor ourselves online and in real life to support our online image which is supposed to make us more popular in ''real life'' with our social circle. We are judged for what we write online more so than ever before - a social media post has the potential to destroy someone's reputation and career within seconds be it something extremely controversial.

Some people have already ''lost it'' just like Bryce's character in the episode. How much longer can a person keep up the facade before they crack?

Does Brice gonna go ahead and break the black mirrior?

Yeah, Nosedive was one of the more disconcerting episodes because it's so close to being real... It's almost at the level where you can't opt out... That's when it really gets scary...

I think this is why it was my favorite episode. :)

mine as well

This is true. This was a very scary episode. I just started watching BM, and it is fantastic! 9/10!

Nosedive is dang freaky because it could easily become our reality and it would suck, bigtime. The logistics are pretty much in place for it too, just need those contact lenses that give us an integrated heads-up display to find out about people's rating on the go.

Once a person gets down to 1.5 or less rating, I can't see there being any recovery for them at all and they would always be the downcast of society, even if they are genuine good people, that is what makes it so sad.

I don’t have any personal social media accounts at all.(I have a YouTube account for creative projects)
I don’t feel I’m missing out on much.

You're missing out on tons!

Baby pic's
Baby pic's
Ugly baby pic's
Pictures of tables with food on them
Maps showing where people are going for dinner
Nights out pic's of people you don't know
Pouting selfies
Selfie vid's
Girls with too much makeup
Baby pic's
50 kids going to school new clothes pics at the start of each term
Pet pics
Pic's so close it's almost just an eye

Surely reading that list has whet your appetite for the wealth of educational and worthwhile information available on social media?

Seriously though, there is more to it than that but I find that non junk things can be found on main websites outwith social media anyway so I use them instead. To me it feels like a job after a while and I wasn't having that much fun when I was using it so I've all but quit them all. I keep FB now just so I have contact with long distance F&F if I want but rarely post unless I have something that's actually worthwhile to say.

Yes it's very close to what we have now. That's one of the reasons I'm not on Social Media, and I have an old dumb phone.
