I had an aniexty attack watching

During 1x02 I just got really nervous and started crying cause I could predict what was going to happen. Despite that, I really like the show and want to continue. Should I keep watching?

Yes

This show is the closest thing to true science fiction at this point in our history.

Thanks for having the guts to admit that. I have watched all of these so
far ... from seasons 1 - 2 and am just starting season 3. The Nosedive
episode is making me feel sick. I think I am surrounded by people like
this already. Still I think most of these stories are way above average and
very insightful.

Love your post...great response. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, but that said, I didn't like the end of the episode too well.
The world is depicts is very scary enough for the whole show ... but no
real resolution to my mind.

Interesting. At the end of the episode when the two "inmates" started yelling at each other, I found myself smiling and laughing as they were actually free. Free to say things that they really didn't believe, but that had been repressed for so long...as their images were transposed on one another you could sense a relationship--a true relationship--starting to form. For me it was a joyous ending. Crazy huh?

BTW, this is why I commented on your post:

I felt the same way, and I think that is their intent. It is a cautionary tale, of not where we might go, but where we already are, which is what makes this series so great.

It was definitely a bittersweet ending with the ironic twist being that as locked up inmates the two social deviants actually became free.

Our rating system culture is the obvious target in this episode, but just as biting is its underhanded interrogation of political correctness -- specifically the way our language and behavior are being policed by others just like us as we collectively head into this strange period that's forcing everyone to submit to a democratized corporate culture of strict rules and standards of practice.
