Playtest question re phone...

Did the game company have any idea how potentially dangerous the phone interference was? Maybe Wyatt Russell's character was just incredibly susceptible to it, but if the phone was such a risk then it seems that turning it off wouldn't be enough. You'd have to have it no where near the room.

At the end, the lady said "put him with the others" - which suggests they knew their VR tech could cause death. If a cell signal was THAT dangerous, I don't know why they wouldn't just block/jam all radio signals (on all frequencies) coming into that building.

Did she say that at the real end or the first fake end?

reply

That was at the end of the fake end.

Really, though, they could have said his phone could interfere with the test so it had to stay with his stuff and that would be understandable. Just like when the stewardess asking him to turn it off on the plane.

I believe they knew. The japanese guy asked if she had turned it off and she said she thought that she did.

Why is it our job to save everyone? Haven't we done enough?
